This lovely patient attended clinic after suffering a shoulder injury from bowling at a cricket match in 2021. He has had pain and clicking in his shoulder since which isn't subsiding.
After some tests I diagnosed him with chronic rotator cuff tendinitis (to the osteos...positive painful arc, weakness in rotator movements and restricted range in rotation).
On examination: Painful shoulder
Clicky shoulder
Restricted shoulder blade movement
Twisting the spine to get movement
Can't touch the back comfortably
After 1 treatment:️ No pain at shoulder
️ No clicking at shoulder
️ Shoulder blade moving freely
️ No twisting at the spine
️ Can touch back comfortably
I must share...shoulders don't always recover this quickly as they are muscle dependent joints.
This patient will be coming back for a follow up in a few weeks to see how much of this range of movement he was able to keep and how long he has been pain free...Will keep you posted!
On another note, hands up if you can comfortably touch your hand on your back
